Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner sets record for highest skydive and fastest freefall speed. After first launch was aborted at 9 October, second try was at 14 October. Baumgartner flew approximately 39 kilometres (24 mi) into the stratosphere over New Mexico, United States in a helium balloon. He reached 833.9mph (1,342km/h) speed and breaked sound barrier. He is the only human to go faster than the speed of sound. The project is called Red Bull Stratos.
Joseph Kittinger is previous world record holder for skydiving from 31.33 km (19.4 mi).
